Survey Finds Plastic Surgery Patients Feel Better after their Procedure

According to a recent survey published by the Journal of Clinical Psychological Science, people who undergo plastic surgery to improve their appearance also enjoy psychological benefits after their procedure. Many patients not only expressed that they felt better about themselves, but they were also encouraged to set higher goals following surgery. The survey respondents were asked questions about their general goals in life prior to undergoing surgery. They were also asked whether they had previously considered plastic surgery before choosing to ultimately move forward with their procedure or whether they had never considered plastic surgery until recently. Follow-up surveys were conducted with all respondents at 3, 6, and 12 month intervals after their procedure. On average, most respondents indicated that not only were they happy with their results, but they were happier about their overall appearance. In addition, most respondents expressed that they were in better physical health, experienced less anxiety, and had higher self-esteem during the follow-up surveys.
