Breast Surgery

Whether you are seeking breast augmentation, breast enhancement with a breast lift, or wish to reduce heavy, uncomfortable breasts, our plastic surgeon can help you achieve the look and feel that is best for you.

Dr. David Bottger offers several types of breast surgery at his Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. Our different breast surgery procedures include:

Breast Augmentation

Also known as breast enlargement, breast augmentation surgery involves making a small incision and inserting an implant behind the breast. There are several options available for the type of implant, incision location, and plane of placement that can best reduce scarring. We recommend you read our Breast Augmentation FAQs as an initial step if you have any additional questions about Breast Augmentation.

Breast Lift

In some cases, a breast lift is a more appropriate option than breast enlargement. A breast lift will raise the nipple, as well as tighten and contour the skin to achieve a better shape. We recommend reading our Frequently Asked Breast Lift Questions if you would like to learn more about this procedure.

Breast Reduction

For many women, breast reduction can improve the look and shape of the breasts by reducing their size. Breast reduction also reduces uncomfortable excess weight while alleviating back, neck, and shoulder pain, which can cause more serious health problems over time. As a first step, please read our Frequently Asked Breast Reduction Questions.

Breast Revision

A breast revision surgery can benefit patients who want to exchange/upgrade their existing breast implants or remove them altogether. Depending on the patient’s medical needs and aesthetic desires, the procedure may involve the repositioning, replacement, or removal of the implants. Alternatively, patients may undergo a breast revision to address unsatisfactory results from a previous surgery, or even to combat a rare breast augmentation complication (such as capsular contracture).

Gynecomastia Surgery

Breast reduction is also available for men. Although the procedure is not as widely known as female breast reduction, excessive development of the breasts (gynecomastia) is a condition affecting 40% to 60% of men. Gynecomastia surgery can offer a vastly improved body image and self-esteem. Read our Frequently Asked Male Breast Reduction Questions.
