Is a Breast Lift Right for You?

Many Philadelphia women choose to undergo a breast lift procedure to address undesirable changes to the appearance of their breasts caused by:

  • Weight fluctuations
  • Age and/or genetics
  • Pregnancy and/or breast feeding

Fortunately, our breast lift procedure can help restore your breasts to a more natural, youthful aesthetic by correcting issues related to:

  • Excess skin
  • Sagging breasts
  • Loss of fullness or shape
  • Areola size

If you would also like to add volume to your breasts, Dr. Bottger can combine your breast lift with a breast augmentation or help you learn more about the differences between a breast lift and a breast augmentation.

Dr. Bottger performs each breast lift to suit your individual needs. There are two types of breast lift procedures available:

  • Circumareolar mastopexy – Also known as ‘donut mastopexy’, this procedure is used mostly in cases of minimal sagging and creates a scar around the areola.
  • Vertical mastopexy – This method addresses more significant sagging and creates a scar around the areola and down to the breast fold, creating a lollipop pattern.

Dr. Bottger will assess your needs to help you determine which option is right for you.

Breast Lift Recovery

Typically the recovery period for a breast lift procedure is relatively short and you should experience minimal discomfort, however during this time you should refrain from strenuous physical activity. You should expect to see optimal results several months after your surgery.

If you have specific concerns regarding how the recovery period or final results might impact your lifestyle, or if you have additional questions about your breast lift procedure or questions about breast lift scarring, Dr. Bottger will address them during your personal consultation.
