Brazilian Butt Lift - Buttock Augmentation

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Brazilian butt lift is a term used to describe buttock enlargement and reshaping with the use of fat grafts. In this buttock augmentation procedure Philadelphia plastic surgeon Dr. David Bottger uses liposuction to remove fat from one or several areas of the body (commonly the hips and abdomen) and injected into the buttock area producing both an increase in volume and an enhancement of buttock contour. A large portion of the fat typically "takes" resulting in a permanent result, usually evident after three to four months. This procedure is best suited for patients with adequate fat reserves for transfer and not extremely thin patients.

Ideal Candidates

  • Patients with flat buttock contour or those seeking enhanced prominence or roundness.
  • Patients with adequate fat reserves for grafting who are not excessively thin
  • Patients in good general health
  • Patients with realistic expectations

Recovery

After the buttock augmentation procedure you will be placed in a pressure garment which you will wear for approximately three weeks. It is important to avoid long term sitting during this early post-operative period. The initial result will appear slightly overcorrected and it will take approximately four months to see your final results.

Risks and complications

Potential risks include but are not limited to infection, bleeding, asymmetry, contour irregularities, inadequate projection and need for repeat procedures for further augmentation.
