Botox Frequently Asked Questions

What is Botox?

BOTOX is a substance that when injected directly into a muscle will reduce its activity. This will subsequently reduce the appearance of furrows and wrinkles produced by the action of that muscle.

What can BOTOX do for me?

BOTOX injections smooth wrinkles in the forehead, improve moderate to severe frown lines between the eyes. BOTOX also helps to prevent future wrinkling.

Botox is also effective in raising the lateral brow area to simulate a surgical brow lift. Results are temporary, lasting usually 4-5 months.

How does BOTOX work?

BOTOX paralyzes the muscles in the face preventing them from contracting and thus smoothing out wrinkles. This can potentially prevent future wrinkles that would develop from repeated frowning or other creasing of the face while making facial expressions.

What is the Procedure Like?

A Botox injection takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. A numbing cream is used and injections are made with a fine needle. There may be some mild pain during the process, but it should subside immediately after the BOTOX is in place.

How Long Do BOTOX Injections Last?

BOTOX injections are temporary. The effects of BOTOX injections typically last from 3 to 5 months. After several treatments the results tend to be longer lasting.
