FDA Approval of New Anti-Aging Hand Treatment

SERVING PHILADELPHIA, NEWTOWN SQUARE AND NEARBY AREAS IN PENNSYLVANIA

There are currently a number of procedures that help your face look more youthful by reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles that come with aging and other environmental factors, but what about the hands? Well as of last month, the FDA has approved Radiesse for the use of treatment on hands.

This is the first injectable to be cleared by the FDA for the purpose of hand rejuvenation. In a year-long study of 100 patients, 98% reported an improved appearance in their hands. Radiesse is an ideal non-toxic, non-allergenic treatment as it is easy to inject, has minimal side effects, and is long lasting, with results lasting for up to a year.

Radiesse is made up of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel base, and once injected the results are almost immediate. As we age, the skin tends to lose elastin and collagen, Radiesse helps the body to produce its own natural collagen.

The procedure is not recommended for anyone who suffers from a bleeding disorder, severe allergies, skin infections, or has hands that are severely lacking fat. As with any procedure, it is important that you have it administered by someone who is experienced and can avoid injecting the product directly into tendons or veins.

Philadelphia cosmetic surgeon Dr. David A. Bottger is highly experienced and is committed to providing his patients exceptional results. If you are interested in learning more about Radiesse and how it can benefit you, contact our practice at 610-355-1929 to schedule your personal consultation.
