Who Is The Ideal Candidate
For A Facelift?
Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Also serving West Chester, Newton Square, and Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania
Ideal candidates for facelift are people between the ages of 40 and 70 without significant medical conditions who have realistic expectations. Conditions that may be improved include:
- Patients who have developed “jowls” which impair a well-defined jaw line and create a square-appearing lower face.
- Patients with sagging skin in the mid-face or cheek region creating a “hollow” eye or more skeletonized appearance.
- Patients with loose, wrinkled, or sagging skin in the neck region with a “turkey gobbler” appearance.
- Patients with deep lines and folds from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth (nasolabial folds).
Ideal candidates should also have good skin elasticity. If you are a smoker, it is important to stop smoking at least 2-4 weeks prior to surgery, since smoking may adversely impact your results and increase your risk of complications. At your initial consultation, Philadelphia plastic surgeon Dr. David Bottger will conduct a thorough examination and review your cosmetic goals to determine whether or not a facelift is the ideal procedure for your needs.
