Does My Nipple Need to Be
Removed For the Breast Lift?

Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Also serving West Chester, Newton Square, and Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

The breast lift procedure does not require removal of the nipple to reposition it. An incision is made around the nipple and areola, which is left attached to the underlying breast tissue. An appropriate amount of skin is removed, the nipple is raised, and the skin envelope is tightened and closed around it.

Since the milk glands do not get separated from the nipple during your breast lift, you will most likely still be able to breast feed. Philadelphia plastic surgeon Dr. David Bottger will take great care to preserve the milk ducts while repositioning your nipple in order to ensure the greatest likelihood of future breast feeding.
