How Long Is Recovery?

Breast augmentation recovery time will vary for each patient. Philadelphia plastic surgeon Dr. David Bottger will generally prescribe pain medication for several days following your surgery. You will need to wear a sports bra for several weeks after the surgery to maintain support and facilitate the healing process. Sleeping at a 45 degree angle will help minimize swelling and discomfort. If present, the majority of bruising should go away in ten days.

You can generally return to work within a week, but you should refrain from heavy lifting for several weeks. The final results of your breast augmentation may take one to three months to appear.
