Can I get pregnant after
a tummy tuck?

You can get pregnant after a tummy tuck without injury to yourself or the baby. The pregnancy will, however, stretch the abdominal wall muscles and overlying skin and potentially reverse some of the improvement. It is therefore recommended in most cases to wait until after child bearing before getting a tummy tuck.
If you are planning on getting pregnant in the next year or two, it is definitely a good idea to wait. However, if you believe that you are done having children but can’t rule out the possibility of a future pregnancy, you may want to opt for the procedure.
The best way to preserve the results of your tummy tuck during a future pregnancy is to avoid extremely large weight gains during the pregnancy. While this may not always be easy to avoid, it is a worthwhile pursuit since you will also experience additional health benefits such as a decreased risk of diabetes. By keeping pregnancy weight gain to a minimum, you may only need a mini-tummy tuck to regain the results of your original procedure.
