Breast Augmentation Surgery

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Breast augmentation is usually performed under general anesthesia in the out patient operating room setting.  The incision is made in one of three locations (inframammary, areolar, or axillary) depending on the wishes of the patient and recommendations from Philadelphia Breast Surgeon Dr. Bottger.

During breast augmentation surgery, a pocket is created beneath the chest muscle and the implant is inserted and inflated (saline). Dr. Bottger will close the incision with dissolving sutures.  The incision is dressed and a compression garment is placed around the chest.  Patients are sent home after spending several hours in the recovery room.
